ALL of America was linked with the slave trade & with genocide. It's a bell. it's not a piece of art depicting slavery or a weapon or jail used specifically to enforce slavery. Doors, roads, etc., had been used in the slave trade. When something is just so generic...

University bell removed over slavery linkA former student donated the Demerara Bell to St Catharine's College in Cambridge in 1960. How about you just allow more people from ethnic minority backgrounds into your university?... Just a thought. Admirable but surely a University should be more aware of its own historical background in terms of fixtures and fittings? It's about chime.
