Ontario curriculum materials indicate the course was designed as an alternative to compulsory English courses and shares the same learning areas, while exploring a range of Indigenous literary, oral, media and cultural texts. The board directed staff to prepare a report by June with details on how and when to roll out the new required course to all of its 110 secondary schools.
The Toronto board is the latest to bring in the change after school boards in York and Durham regions also voted to make the course a compulsory Grade 11 English credit.
Nothing normal about Toronto. This fits right in.
I mean, I do like Tomson Highway. He's probably the best-known Indigenous writer and has pretty much been cancelled, for saying he benefited greatly from residential schools. In Canada today, you are not allowed to state your own experience if it deviates from the narrative.
They will probably just let kids watch old western movies 🤣🤣
Damn that's sure to help in all aspects of higher education. They should have a Ginger course as well. Red heads are very rare.
Homeschool.
And how is this gonna help students for the future? Schools should have..how to manage your budget courses.
TDSB is not noted for intelligent policy decisions.
And that is how you change history.
I wonder if these 'authors' drinking level status will be included in the said curriculum, lol 🤮 that is as impoŕtant as is how to build a teepee 😅 they must be ever so proud 😅
How long until the woke leftists at the tdsb make courses on “critical race theory” and “gender diversity” mandatory?
Everyone should know how to build a teepee
How about people learn proper English?
25% of the English curriculum for Toronto high school students now consists of authors chosen for their ethnic origin, not quality, importance, influence or anything else. Pathetic.
Using children to cover up govt actions on Indigenous people ! Blame society for treatment that govt caused it sounds like the solution !! I think the govt needs to be educated not our children ..
