The rectorate of Stellenbosch University has unanimously accepted the principal recommendation of a panel that the controversial Wilgenhof residence be closed.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the university said that the rector Professor Wim de Villiers will now recommend to the council that Wilgenhof residence should be closed and that alternative uses be considered for the buildings.The panel was appointed by the rectorate following the discovery of disturbing contents found in two rooms of the Wilgenhof residence, which was revealed by News24.Who we choose to trust can have a profound impact on our lives.
