Chinese students are signing up to NSW’s top two universities in increasing numbers despite border closures, with Sydney University defying dire predictions by growing overseas enrolments

and attracting a boom in donations from philanthropists.

International enrolments at UNSW - which, like Sydney, is among the top 100 universities in the world - also grew by 39.2 per cent this year on the strength of Chinese demand, although a spokeswoman said the sharp rise came off a significant fall in 2020. However, other universities that also consider China their main market, such as the University of Technology and Macquarie, did not fare so well, the report said. They lost $50.6 and $51.4 million respectively.

Domestic enrolments also boomed in 2021, although Professor Norton said it was too early to tell whether it was due to the federal government’s new fee structure, which has increased student fees for some courses and dropped them for others.

Thats fake as fuck. No one is getting admissions and this corrupt is spreading rumors.❌

Shame on these students wasting their parent’s savings on online courses. Chinese employers are not blind to hire students having practical skills, rather than only knowing how to write essays, as all Chinese universities are having classes on campus.

Australia is a Chinese colonial outpost, this is par for the course

The greed of these establishments is starting to show now !!

Isn't this great news? Sydney Uni can sell a few more degrees to people who struggle to even hold a conversation in English.

the food delivery business is going down the toilet

Competing for top programs in Australia can be hard enough at 25.6 million Australians. Imagine more than a billion! Australia still offers a somewhat expensive but quality educational offering for international students and let's not forget achievable.

A government owned entity is working in the interests of foreigners and not it's own youth. This is neo-liberalism, foreign citizens with cash are more important in this country than you are.

Good sign.
