The derelict school on Gartsherrie Road in Coatbridge has been destroyed.

Footage taken after a blaze tore through an old Scots primary school shows the burnt out shell of the premises.

Thick plumes of smoke could be seen, all the way from Glasgow city centre. Crews battled the vicious flames well into the early hours of the following the morning.
