An updated version of the FAFSA was released for the 2024-2025 school year, supposedly being a simpler form that is easier to fill out.“Typically, October 1 of the previous year is when the FAFSA will become available for students to access,” said Anthony Jouvenas, the Financial Aid Director at Wallace Community College Dothan. “Well, that was pushed off well into January of the current year.
There have been reports that institutions have received incorrect financial information from forms as well, leaving millions of students nationwide wondering if they will receive assistance or not.“Over the past week or so, leading into the beginning of May, those corrections are supposed to be getting corrected with federal student aid and through the IRS,” said Jouvenas.
