TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Board of Education approved a ban on classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades on Wednesday, expanding the law critics call “Don’t Say Gay” at the request of Gov. Ron DeSantis as he gears up for an expected presidential run.
The DeSantis administration put forward the proposal last month as part of the Republican’s aggressive conservative agenda, as DeSantis leans heavily into cultural divides ahead of his looming White House candidacy. The prohibition, which began last year with the law banning sexual orientation and gender identity lessons in kindergarten through third grade, has drawn intense backlash from critics who argue it marginalizes LGBTQ+ people.
Florida is becoming a Nazi state!
Your lying is astonishing it doesn’t say that. Parents are the teachers not the schools. Get that through thick skulls. Schools are and should be cemented in learning not indoctrination.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Always surrendered with kids
It will take a while to undo all of this nonsense. This pudgy clown is something else!
As a teacher or administrator, who you sleep with may be the most important thing to you, but it IS NOT and should NEVER be the most important thing to me or my children.
Is it standard journalist practice and ethical to only refer to a bill by the nickname given to it by its opponents?
Such a brave patriot!
