The apparent cause of death was hazing.Initial police investigation revealed that Salilig died following hazing rites initiated by at least 15 of his schoolmates who were also members of Tau Gamma Phi Grand Fraternity.Imus City Police Station police investigator SSg. Jessie Villanueva told The Manila Times they have yet to pursue the suspects. However, two of the 15 undisclosed suspects have admitted their guilt for the disappearance and killing of their schoolmate.
AdU notes Salilig was last seen at Jac Liner Buendia Bus Terminal in Manila City, at 10:26 a.m. on Feb. 18, 2023.Adamson Chronicle, the official student publication of AdU, said the 24-year-old and third year chemical engineering student was wearing his AdU uniform under a red Puma hoodie at the time of his reported disappearance.'The University has conducted its own investigation and has cooperated with the authorities on the matter,' AdU said.
