SIU probe uncovers rot in Nsfas | Citypress

SIU head Andy Mothibi, revealed this to Parliament’s standing committee on public accounts on Tuesday. Mothibi appeared before the Scopa to give feedback on the SIU’s investigations into the scheme.

Last year, the SIU was authorised to investigate allegations concerning Nsfas and the college. These included claims of maladministration in the disbursement of accommodation allowances and bursaries received from the scheme and the Retail Sector Education Training Authority. Please Hawks , SIU whoever is responsible for investigating irregularities in the department of education should take the matter seriously because there are lot of fake matric certificate.The problem is with the department itself.

There are people who have never attended school but they are having matric certificate. Some of them are holding important positions at their workplace,using fakes matric certificates. When you ask the person , he would tell you that just for R1500 you will get the certificate .

SIU must also investigate bogus matric(Grade12) certificates.Either the department of education or Higher education and training should institute an inquiry to verify everyone who intends to study his/ her Grade12 certificate before admitting that particular person.
