Term three begins with home learning for Greater Sydney students

Sky News spent the first day of school back with the Howard family – who like thousands of other Sydney families – are trying to juggle remote learning and working from home.

Mother Arlene Howard told Sky News life was “looking a bit different” because because she is juggling working from home and teaching at the kitchen table. “I think that’s going to be really hard on the children. The kids struggle when they don’t see their friends, they’re not getting out to do sport and activities so they start to go a bit stir-crazy,” she said.

Face-to-face learning had been scheduled to return next Monday but with the lockdown uncertainty, an announcement on whether school will go back as planned is expected on Wednesday.
