Editorial: Boris Johnson and his government have badly mishandled the crisis in education due to Covid-19. Instead of giving moral lectures, the prime minister should give teachers and parents the support they need.

In the six months or so since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, the government’s handling of its impact on schools has become emblematic of its flawed, haphazard and, at times, bullying approach.

There are many solutions to keep vulnerable teachers—those over 55 and with conditions that put them at higher risk—safe, such as offering them early retirement, reassigning them to virtual jobs, or letting them teach remotely while their students are in the school building..

universal face coverings is an absolute must including test trace and isolate in every school in england. Any less and you are playing russian roulette with everyone who comes into contact with a school. Not my son bojo. Distance learning please
