Politicians fanning reports of leadership challenges 'have rocks in their heads' | Sky News AustraliaMinister for Decentralisation and Regional Education Andrew Gee says stories of anonymous politicians challenging Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack are great for the “Canberra bubble” but they are “not resonating out in country Australia”. \n\nReports have emerged of senior Nationals MPs and party figures mounting a destabilisation campaign against Mr McCormack following the Queensland election, despite a failed attempt in February. \n\nMr Gee told Sky News voters in his electorate are not interested in leadership “scuttlebutt”.\n\n“They are saying get on with the job, our country is traumatised, our economy is traumatised, people’s lives have been devastated, get on with the job of governing Australia and don’t entertain any nonsense like this whatsoever,” he said. \n\n“That’s the message from country Australia on this and everyone would do very well to heed it because if you don’t you’ll pay at the ballot box down the line.\n\n“These reports seem to bob up every now and again, the thing was settled in February, the public aren’t interested in it, no one’s got an appetite for it and quite frankly if people are trying to egg or whip this story up they’ve got rocks in their heads because the public won’t wear it. \n\n'I think that we would be punished severely for even entertaining this kind of nonsense and the shenanigans of the Canberra bubble.' \n\nImage: News Corp Australia M_McCormackMP does not matter all politicians are the same working for banking and oil and mining sectors and not for the people.
