Conservative former education secretary Lord Baker, who drew up the GCSE exam system in the late 1980s, said the algorithm was"flawed" and called for results day this Thursday to be postponed.
"The A-level results have produced hundreds of thousands of unfair and barely explicable downgrades," he said. "They have helped smaller private schools but hit the brighter students in a poorly performing state school. It is not surprising that various parties are considering legal actions."Asked to repeat those words again on Monday, his spokesman declined to."The government must now allow young people to use the grades their teachers predicted at both A-level and GCSE," shadow education secretary Kate Green said.
I don’t have confidence in his confidence. examshambles
Students, pupils & parents don’t have confidence in him! Once the confidence & respect is lost its time for someone else to take over! He’s made a complete mess of things.
He's on his own.
Problem is no one has any confidence in the PM anymore given all the disastrous decisions he’s made so far over Covid19
Pm gave him a job he’s screwed up not PM you delegate people jobs you trust them in that position some fail some don’t it’s the individual you blame not PM it’s called trust, toxic Corbyn gave Abbott a job look what a clown she turned out to be
Course he does he supported both Brexit and his leadership
Boris Johnson statement in full: 'I have the same level of confidence in Gavin Williamson as I have in Priti Patel, Matt Hancock, Dominic Raab, Robert Jenrick, Michael Gove and Grant Shapps. I couldn't squeeze a cigarette paper between them!'
Kiss of death
If previous tory PM's said that it meant he'd be sacked soon Now it means, 'We don't make mistakes. We never apologise for the mistakes we never make. Move along now.'

In other news...PM declared insane.
... but UTurn?
And yet now Times Education Editor is stating that there will be a press conference later this afternoon where it is expected there will be a u-turn back to teacher's grades - Johnson's confidence lasted less than 1/2 a day 😂😂😂😂
Another ‘we’re not to blame’ attitude. Clearly, a Cummings statement
How that confidence will wain when these 16/17 yr olds who've been done over by Gavin Williamson are old enough to vote next election and they repay that confidence with a vote for others.
He hasn't got confidence in him he just hasn't got the balls to change it. He also doesn't care that working class kids are worse off.
'A' Level students being denied grades they would likely have got & therefore denied their future careers could be the single most profound effect of COVID-19 beyond suffering from the illness itself. It is that important.
Gavin he’s an idiot
The problem is, I have no confidence in the PM.
Hahahaha
Or 'please don't make me cut short my umpteenth holiday this year Gav'
Citizens you represent have absolutely no confidence whatsoever in GavinWilliamson or Ofqual. The decision by Northern Ireland & Scotland to give GCSE Grades as per teacher assessments should become a country wide decision. Please don’t disadvantage my child, NoMoreIncompetance
There is something truly wrong with the people who claim to be running the country! What a disgrace!
