A Colorado high school student leaped from his desk and charged a gunman, sacrificing his life to buy classmates time to escape, according to witnesses.Two students, aged 18 and 16, have appeared in court charged over the incidentKendrick Castillo, 18, pinned a gunman to the wall before he was fatally shot in the attack at STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday .A second shooter was captured by an armed security guard.
Authorities said their acts of bravery helped minimise the bloodshed from the attack, which killed Mr Castillo and left eight others wounded. "We're going to hear about very heroic things that have taken place at the school," Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said.
