Researchers have been commissioned to pour over the university’s archives to how much it gained from the “Atlantic slave trade and other forms of coerced labour during the colonial era”.
Why do we not embrace our history, recognise that it was off the time it happened? And move on! Instead of investigating it, or removing it, or trying to rewrite it! It is what it is!
What a waste of money
I find it quite depressing that the Telegraph, in connection with Cambridge Uni, is reporting that researchers are going to 'pour over the archives'. Whatever are they planning to pour? Perhaps they are actually trying to erase history.
What about the cruel way bicycles are chained up outside colleges. At least they don’t sing Old Man River.
