Clothing giant Marks and Spencer is to give parents a helping hand during the cost of living crisis, by offering repairs on school uniform and other garments. Which means that any worn out trouser knees and ripped shirts can be repaired in time for the new school year in September.
It comes through a new partnership between M&S and repairs start-up Sojo, which will take charge of the alterations and repairs service for the brand name. Richard Price, managing director of clothing & home at M&S, said: 'Through the launch of our repair service, we’re making it even easier for customers to give their clothes another life, whether they are using our new repair service or long-standing clothes recycling scheme.'
The work will be carried out by Sojo and its in-house team of tailors – and customers will then receive their fixed items back in the post within seven to 10 days. Families across the UK can apply for extra help towards these costs if they qualify for free school meals or other benefits.
