A large police operation is under way at the University of Sydney and a person has been taken to hospital after unconfirmed reports of a stabbing.
Multiple police cars and ambulances on Tuesday morning rushed to Western Avenue, which runs through the middle of the university. Both Western Avenue and Science Road are blocked off by police tape.Police are stationed nearby one of the university’s ovals close to Parramatta Road at Camperdown. NSW Police are yet to confirm the nature of the incident. However, a NSW Ambulance spokesperson said one person had been taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. No information regarding their injuries is available.“As a precautionary measure there may be an increased security and police presence on campus while investigations continue,” a university spokesperson said.
