TUSKEGEE, Ala. -
University officials have carved out $2.4 million to use toward enhancing the on-campus student experience at the private institution, one of Alabama’s oldest Historically Black Colleges or Universities, or HBCUs. “A significant portion of the funding will support recruiting additional full-time residence hall directors, promising comprehensive support and guidance for on-campus students,”“Additional licensed counselors will be hired to enhance mental health support services, providing students with increased access to counseling and wellness programs.”
“By bolstering counseling and mental health and wellness resources, we are steadfast in our dedication to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive,” said President Charlotte P. Morris. In addition to student wellness programs, a portion of the earmark will go toward campus safety, which the university said will help it to hire more staff and buy new equipment to expand safety personnel on campus.Walgreens to take a hard look at underperforming stores, could close hundreds
