A new law in Washington could keep kids in booster seats until middle school

That's what will happen to some kids after Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee signed stricter car seat regulations into law, meaning children under the age of 12 and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches must sit in a booster seat.

— Harborview Injury April 19, 2019 If a driver is found in violation of the new law, they can be cited with a traffic infraction. This law doesn't apply to for-hire vehicles, buses or various shuttles. The new guidelines go into effect January 1, 2020.

We could also build an infrastructure that supports mass transit and walking, biking, riding a scooter, etc. What a concept.

I feel like this is some sort of ploy to keep Americans buying big, expensive, gas-guzzling SUVs.

I rode in one until the 7th grade. Made me feel big and tall.

Aww come on!!! Middle school? There are kids in middle school taller and bigger than me and I'm well into my 6th decade!!! That's too far. As soon as they can fit and be safe in standard seat belt that should suffice.
