According to the Federal Reserve, over 45 million Americans collectively have over $1.7 trillion in student loan debt. A new survey from Bankrate shows that 1 in 5 American adults claim that student loan debt will majorly influence their vote in the 2024 presidential election.

A new survey out from bankrate found that nearly one in five adults say student loan debt will have a major influence over their vote in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.Great and Sarah, we were just talking in the break how this has been a bit confusing for the average consumer Biden student debt program.I think it's absolutely impacting how they're feeling about their student loan debt.

So if borrowers are looking for help, that could be a really good way to, you know, to look into reducing your monthly payments and you had the chance to talk to borrowers for this report. And to that point, you said in the report that borrowers delay saving for retirement and emergencies, buying homes or even getting married and having Children.

But if you find a payment plan that's really aggressively about paying down that debt and sacrifice things like retirement savings, it could ultimately harm you more than help you.Yeah, this is a very important topic and I'm sure we're going to keep talking about it as we head into that November election.

Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy said Sunday the Supreme Court is “readying to fundamentally rewrite the Second Amendment” after striking down a federal ban on bump stocks.A former Trump administration Pentagon official went after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday after the chancellor complimented President Biden as Europe looks to the November elections.
