Primary school is a time in your child's life when they are perhaps at their most impressionable. From learning times tables to making new friends, it's important for them to be part of a school that develops the child as a whole.
Promoting pupil's personal development sits at the heart of the school’s work. Pupils are very well prepared for life outside school, as they learn how to keep themselves and others safe from the risks that they may face. The school supports them to have high aspirations for their future and learn about different careers and how their own skills can develop to support their individual ambitions.
Speaking about how the academy aims to help pupils grow and develop, headteacher Mr James Hughes said: "At E-ACT Blackley we believe that our role is to equip children with the life skills that they will need to be successful, both now and in the future. Taking learning outside the classroom, Blackley Eco-Warriors are an active panel of pupils who are committed to making positive environmental changes around the school. With a precise action plan and regular assemblies throughout the school term to raise awareness of conservation matters and news, the Eco-Warriors are working towards Green School Award.
The Ofsted rated 'Good' academy holds an 'Outstanding' for Personal Development, thanks to things like The Quad - a specially built outdoor area for learning and activities with reception pupils, acting as an extension to the classroom.
