A Sydney school has come under fire from parents for playing a song by an Australian rapper which depicts Captain Cook as a 'murderer without a licence' and talks about the artist's 'desire to kill, any white devil wanna test my will”.

Sydney's Ramsgate Public School under fire for blaring violent rap song about Captain Cook and the 'white devil' before class

The playlist of songs has included pop songs like We’re All In This Together by Ben Lee and Happy by Pharrell Williams. The department apologised to parents and children for any distress caused and said NSW public school principals and staff would be"reminded of their professional obligations". “It came to my attention when my son said to one day, ‘dad, is there something wrong with being white?’” the father said, recounting how his son would hear the lyric ‘white devil’ every morning.
