The Kogi State police Commissioner, Bertrand Onuoha, on Sunday, confirmed the killing of two students adopted Thursday 9th May 2024 from the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara in Kogi State. "Yes two of them were found to have been shot dead," Onuoha said.
While condemning the killing, E4A said “it is sad that the criminals killed two of the students who were not among the 21 rescued through the operation coordinated by the Kogi State Government, though the circumstances of their kidnap and being traced to a forest in Kwara State by security agencies are yet to be ascertained.
“We call on the Kogi State Government to work with its Kwara State counterpart to take a decisive action against the perpetrators who are said to be hiding in a forest in Kwara, very close to Kogi and Ekiti States.” Meanwhile, the Kogi state Confluence University of Science and Technology, , has announced three days of morning over the two students murdered by armed bandits on Saturday, 25th May, 2024.
“We wish to assure the parents, guardians, and the university community that the Kogi State government is making concerted efforts to ensure the safe release of the remaining students from captivity. The Nigeria Police command in Akwa Ibom, says it has arrested four suspected kidnappers dressed in military uniform and rescued their victims.
