Training shifts to a higher gear as five learners of the King's Gambit Online Chess School have qualified for the 2024 Palarong Pambansa to be hosted by Cebu in July. King Gambit coach Richard Villaseran said on Wednesday that five of his chess students are going to Cebu to represent their respective regions in the games for elementary and secondary students athletes. 'I'm proud of the players, they really worked hard for these achievements.
National Master Michael Jan Stephen Inigo of Bayawan, Negros Oriental will represent Central Visayas and National Master Keith Adriane Ilar of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental will represent Northern Mindanao in the secondary level. Ralz Devibar of Samal, Davao del Norte will represent Davao Region, Pat Ferdolf Macabulos of Bataan will represent Central Luzon and Arwin Martinez of Cagayan de Oro will represent Northern Mindanao in the elementary division.
