Events for the “Palarong Bicol,” which opened Sunday in Legazpi City, Albay are pushing through as scheduled despite the suspension of classes in the province due to the extreme heat and the nationwide transport strike, the Department of Education regional office has announced.
Games for the “Palarong Bicol ” in Albay are currently being hosted in the cities of Ligao, Tabaco and Legazpi. Governor Grex Lagman ordered all academic institutions in the province to implement distance learning modalities in light of the ongoing danger level heat index and the mass transport strike that would last until May 1, Labor Day.Lagman explained that the Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has consulted health and safety experts before issuing his order.
