You know who's not surprised by the rule-breaking of 'Aunt Becky'? Every teacher | By Gerry Brooks, an elementary school principal in Lexington, Kentucky, for CNNOpinion

Gerry Brooks is an elementary school principal in Lexington, Kentucky. He is the author of"Go See the Principal," a book of essays about the life of an educator. The opinions expressed in this commentary are his own. View more opinion at CNN.

The nation is in an uproar about the latest college admissions scandal. Some wealthy parents flagrantly broke the rules and the law, and spent a ton of money, to make sure their children got into elite schools. Gerry BrooksThe scandal even blew up more than usual because it ensnared the actors Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. No one could believe our beloved Aunt Becky from"Full House" would do such a thing. Do you know who isn't surprised by the situation? Every educator in America. This thing occurs all the time, in every school. Maybe not at the same scale, with the same amounts of cash, but bad parental behavior and entitlement are old news.

Actresses among dozens facing admissions scam charges 03:31Some people will say lying about your child reading at night is different from lying on a college application. It's not like a dishonest reading log denies another student a spot in a particular college. OK, agreed, but what about the parents who lie about where their children live in order to get them into a school with a better sports team? They believe what they are doing is best for their child.

Loughlin says she doesn't push kids in old interview 03:32A rule, policy or law is there to be followed, hopefully for a good reason. When you choose to flout it, you're basically saying to your child"I know there's a rule, but I choose not to follow it because I think I know what's best for our family.

Opinion Huge difference between fraud and bribing to get into a college and adding time to a reading log in elementary school....kinda reaching there, Gerry

Opinion This happens all the time, this group just got caught.

Opinion CNN is NOT for long.

Opinion College is a scam.

Opinion You know who isn’t surprised that Gerry Brooks is an fool - his teachers. His opinion is garbage: “parents signing a weekly reading log saying their child read 10 minutes on Tuesday is equivalent to spending $500k and committing fraud to get her kid into USC.” WTF? Clueless.

Opinion Yes, they knew😒

Opinion So true Gerry. Best video, of all the great ones, you’ve ever done.

Opinion Hi CNN, friends. Typo at paragraph 4, first sentence; 'for ten' instead of of 'for10'. Thank you. God bless, Proverbs 31

Opinion In public schools in affluent areas, there are HUGE numbers of kids in the “gifted program” because parents take their kids to private psychologists to get them tested and certified as “gifted”. They game the system.

Opinion Spoiled girls grow up to be spoiled moms

Opinion The only way to rich people to play by the rules is to put them in jail when they break the law. Fines and community service does not stop them.

Opinion i would say, “here come all of the parents pretending they’re not an ‘Aunt Becky’,” but they’re likely illiterate due to their own parents signing off their reading logs.

Opinion use to watch full house a lot when I was a kid between the ages of seven and eleven she is not a monster leave the bitch alone.

Opinion I read the article.I have a friend whose son had spent hours filling out college applications. They were extremely detailed & required hours of his time. His grades well qualified him for the colleges he applied to.Tell Lori that this young man did what what he was supposed to do.

Opinion Thoughts, prayers, and collagen...

Opinion She shoulda got in on hotness alone. Forget the activist porkers, let the cuties in.

Opinion Bigger picture over just bribe corruption - No student should get head of line thru Sport Star incentive bumping another more qualified student off the limited college openings. College Sports needs separated completely from College admission pool!

Opinion She belongs in Prison with Jussie.

Opinion Elite colleges reputation now tarnished. If I were a job recruiter, question integrity students from bribed colleges. Unions corrupt control education in colleges and College Chair owns Yacht. No to Unions! No to Agency Fees!

Opinion Once again, filthy Democrats, this time in New York has denied something to American military and instead gave it to illegal aliens. This time it was tuitation. Democrats in New York killed this bill, but passed a bill giving tuition assistance to illegal aliens.

Opinion She's just anther Rosanna Barr!

Opinion Is LoriLoughlin?

Opinion Anyone else remember the episode when they got the twins into preschool by lying.. Alot...
