FURIOUS parents have slammed a school’s “exclusive tea party” for pupils with 100 per cent attendance as sick kids are left snubbed. Dozens of children at Packmoor Ormiston Academ…

Parents were left livid by the 'unfair' policy

On its Facebook page the school described the treat as an "incentive" - and promised a further reward for 100% attendance at the end of the summer term. But dozens of parents were left fuming at the policy they said "singled out" those with less than perfect health.Primary age school children can not, and do not, decide to have time off school.

"If they are ill they cannot come to school! It’s not their fault, therefore they shouldn’t be punished."While Samantha Leese said there was "nothing wrong with giving rewards", but questioned the logic of the treatment: "If they are ill they cannot come to school! It’s not their fault, therefore they shouldn’t be punishedEmma Louise Taylor suggested children be rewarded for "excellent" rather than perfect attendance.

"That would still give them an incentive," she said, adding: "Did feel kinda sad for my son who was shut inside with excellent attendance of 98.02% through no fault of his own".

Can’t see anything wrong with that really ! Snowflake parents again !

Don't most schools give some sort of reward for 100% attendance? Our school gives away a new bike for one child

Parents need to get a grip! Snowflakes! 🙄

All schools give perks to kids with 100%. I see both side. Its harsh if your child has had a genuine illness but also the kids with 100% should get a treat for the achievment

The concept is good but too extreme... Some kids have an element of special needs, asthma need an occasional hospital appointment or sometimes kids get tummy bugs. Maybe a 90-95% would be more fair. Not realistic for all kids 🙄

Fully agree treat for the extra effort to do better for your education and school.workers also get rewards for not taking sick days off,
