Not all students are on board with the proposed tuition increase. Some who oppose it expressed concerns as to where the money would be spent and how long they'd on the hook for paying. Several students noted they were working to support themselves and any additional costs wouldn't be welcomed.Still, others felt it's not the responsibility of the current generation to pay for sins of the past -- a stance that's come up in previous political debates.

How exactly was the 27$ amount decided? Who would receive payment? What proof would be required? Does the university have sufficient records to verify genealogy of descendants? Will it be taxable? Would that money be better suited elsewhere?

The problem with mixed race descendants is that they may have someone as a descendant on both sides of the issue - one in genealogy may have been slave owners, as well as a slave. How can you possibly get reparations for this?
Of course they did, mom and dad pay the bills. What do they care?! Ask the parents or the person paying the tuition.
The University should be solely responsible - not students by tuition increases to pay for someone else's wrong doing. This is about as dumb, as it makes a student that would even think of voting in favor of reparations.
