Columbus City Schools admits to hearing rumors of videos of animal torture targeting one of its teachers years before a federal case against him went to court.

Those who reported allegations against Linden McKinley, 7-12 grade teacher Ronald Bedra back in March 2022 want to know why he remained in a classroom until just before pleading guilty in April of this year. May 17, 2024

Students at Linden McKinley featured Bedra back in January 2021, in a student publication called the Panther Press. His write-up starts with his then role as a middle school ED math and science teacher."Sometimes I like to stare at the bug zapper in my backyard, just to watch things die. That's fun, right?"

On Friday, CCS confirmed its school administrator did exchange these text messages back in 2022. In an email to ABC 6 News, a spokesperson wrote: There were no formal charges and nothing involving a student that would have prompted an investigation based on rumor."
