RCSD parents, educators outline hopes for new interim superintendent at public forum

Rochester City School parents and educators sounded off at a public forum on Thursday, April 25, 2024, regarding the board's latest search for an interim superintendent .

"The ideal candidate, man or woman, should have a clear vision for success and a plan for improving student learning, especially for those struggling the most," said one speaker. "We want to make sure that the superintendent that is going to be representing this district is a person who has understanding and the background, the culture of the refugees as well in the community," said Faziri Renzaho, the executive director of Rochester Global Refugee Services. "It's better to have a superintendent that is going to really relate to some of the issues that the community is facing for better understanding of where the resources should be allocated.
