Signs that indicate tolls must be paid to use the Longmeadow Parkway Fox River Bridge near Carpentersville, which will open later this year, are to be removed April 30, Kane County officials said. State and local money secured to pay for the span eliminates the need to charge a toll. The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on improvements proposed for the Route 20 ramps at Illinois and Lavoie avenues in Elgin from 4 to 7 p.m.
