North Texas native, who decommitted from SEC school for HBCU, makes history as 1st HBCU gymnast to win national title
Fisk University’s Morgan Price, part of the first HBCU gymnastics team, made history by winning the United States Gymnastics Collegiate National title.Now, she etched her name in the history books as the first HBCU gymnast to ever win a national title. Her name is Morgan Price, an alumna from Coppell High School in North Texas. "I had to call my coach at Arkansas and de-commit," Price told WFAA at the time.
Now, two years removed from that leap of faith, Price has re-written the record books. She scored a 39.225 in the all-around to win the United States Gymnastics Collegiate National Title at Hollinger Fieldhouse in West Chester, Pa. on Friday night. Etch her name in the HISTORY BOOKS, Morgan Price is the 2024 USAG All-Around National Champion! Making her the FIRST HBCU GYMNAST IN HISTORY TO HOLD THE TITLE 👑💙👏🏽With a national championship already in her resume, Price still has the opportunity to snag more hardware. She'll compete on Vault, Bars and Floor on Sunday, April 14 in the Individual Event Finals.
