A North Carolina school’s policy violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause, a judge said.

By Kayla Epstein Kayla Epstein Embedded audience editor on the National desk Email Bio Follow March 30 at 4:35 PM Every so often, Charter Day School in North Carolina would hold fire or tornado drills in which students had to kneel and protect their heads from flying debris, or crawl on the ground to avoid imaginary smoke.“I don’t think the boys were supposed to be looking up our skirts, but they did,” former student Keely Burks said in a statement to a North Carolina court.

Baker Mitchell, founder of the Roger Bacon Academy, which runs Charter Day School, told The Washington Post in a statement that “the Charter Day School Board is analyzing the opinion and will be meeting with counsel in the very near future to discuss their options moving forward.”Before the lawsuit, the policy had been controversial among some parents and students.

“We’re having to tell our daughters, even though this is what they’re teaching you, this is not the way the world works anymore,” Peltier told HuffPost last year. Howard did not find that argument persuasive. “Defendants have shown no connection between these stated goals and the requirement that girls wear skirts,” he wrote.

Glad they won.

I personally don't agree with this idea of preserving chivalry, but I do believe that uniforms for boys and girls are good and I don't oppose girls and women wearing pants is just that I think we should not get rid of everything that is conventional.

In 1961 a sociology professor at the UofI (kept calling on the 'young lady in the lavender skirt.' When it was pointed out that no one wearing a lavender skirt. but one girl was wearing lavender slacks, the prof said, 'Ladies don't wear slacks.' themorethingschange

The boys should have been made to pay for the girls lunches to 'preserve chivalry' That would make a lot more sense. Idiots...

This will set a precedent for Catholic schools. That will be the next legal challenge.

This is the problem, what idiot thinks a dress preserves chivalry? It's not only stupid it's wrong. Teaching morality maybe, a dress

Dress codes can be a good thing. Nobody wearing the big labels, no extra skin in class. Jus' sayin.

FU WP...not paying one damned dime to read what I can read for FREE elsewhere.

Girl power!💪

そのうち、みんなUSS Enterprises号の乗組員みたいな格好に収束していくんだろうな。。

Just googled chivalry and did not see anything that said girls should wear skirts. Somebody was really reaching on this one.

And again, this is due is within family since parents pay to send their kids to these private none federal funded schools. Their rules and policies. Kids that don’t want to follow these rules need to go cry to mommie and daddy.

How does this play out with Catholic schools?

Soon the army soldiers will refuse to wear a uniform and some Bulls player will want to play in the Lakers' jersey: 'I play with whatever uniform I want.'

if people would raise their sons properly then girls wouldn't have a problem

They were informed before attending that they would have to wear skirts so what about that?

Mặc váy giống như JAV nhật bản à . Việt nam không có nhưng Trung quốc có đấy

Now do hijabs.

Just that anything by force

'to preserve chivalry'? By what logic? 'Girls are easier to assault while wearing skirts, but we will refrain from assaulting them, thereby showing chivalry'

they were probably going to uncle joes house

So go to a different school. I don't agree with mandatory skirting, but it's not a court's place to force that on a charter school.

Any adult male who mandates that children wear skirts, needs their basement and harddrive searched.

Judge strikes down school dress code that required girls to 'promote traditional values' by wearing skirtsJudge strikes down charter school dress code that required girls to 'promote traditional values' by wearing skirts Why must “choice” reflect lack of care about/awareness of outcomes of discrimination? Regardless of gender, race, or other challenges, teaching respect and chivalry starts with deference to the human condition, not a contrived notion of who receives a benefit SOS=sickOfStupidity Again, somebody believes they should control female behavior. What are they so afraid of?

A Judge Ruled Requiring Girls To Wear Skirts At School Violates The Constitution“The skirts requirement causes the girls to suffer a burden the boys do not, simply because they are female,” the ruling stated. This is where Socialism starts telling parents how to dress children. Next Judge rules on what they are taught. Then removing children from homes that fail to follow laws of education. How did Germany start and train their Youth Groups! Wake up America! This has to Stop. Boys have more dress code rules than girls, but feminists whine more about their extra rights and privileges. It's never enough for narcissists.
