Get ready for April 8 by checking out our Total Solar Eclipse page, with everything you need to know for the big day!Austin Tordai, 16, a junior at Webster Thomas High School, lies in a bed at Strong Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, as he undergoes dialysis.

Now, the 16-year-old junior spends three days every week in a bed on the fourth floor of Strong Memorial Hospital undergoing dialysis. "This just happened out of the blue," he said. "I was just a normal kid, nothing going wrong in life, and then just got stuck and this happened."His father, Laszlo, a retired Rochester police officer, said seeing his son so sick felt like a punch to the gut.

The Tordais say it feels like life is on pause, going through the motions and doing their best to bear the anxiety of treatment days.
