Pupils at Gartcosh Primary have been putting their best foot forward and taking action to improve road safety around their school.
The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.Staff, parents and pupils have joined forces to tackle the number of cars outside the school at the start and end of the day by travelling in different ways – and have embraced the challenge of arriving on foot or bringing their bikes and scooters to the playground.
The school’s JRSOs conducted surveys every morning and afternoon in the first week of the project and will repeat the exercise at the end of term to determine what reduction there has been in the number of cars waiting outside.
