SAN DIEGO — The San Diego State Aztecs knew they had played well enough to make the tournament even without the automatic bid that New Mexico received with theirover the Aztecs on Saturday. But the team still had to wait like everyone else to find out what seed they would get and who they would play when the announcements were made during the Selection Sunday show.
The Aztecs received a #5 seed in the NCAA Tournament East Region and will play against the #12 seed University of Alabama at Birmingham.
