School Board President Shelia Wachholder, said, “So many people played such a role in making this happen, and they continue to believe and support this project even after several failed attempts. Our Pennoyer pride is definitely strong.”Board of Education members and administrators of Pennoyer School District 79 and associates prepare for the ceremonial groundbreaking for a building addition on March 13 at Pennoyer School.
Also in the existing space, the bathrooms will be completely renovated to become ADA accessible, lead pipes for drinking water will be replaced, the school’s fire detection system will be updated and the HVAC system will be replaced in the gym and multipurpose room, which doubles as the school’s cafeteria. The school’s recreation area, including the playground and basketball court, will have new blacktop.
