Metrolink Trinity College drops opposition to Metrolink
In a submission made to An Bord Pleanála as part of TII’s application for the €9.5 billion landmark transport project, Trinity had outlined concerns about “significant effects” on equipment on its campus from electromagnetic interference and “ground-borne noise and vibration” caused by both the construction and the operation of the Metrolink.
Trinity proposed an alternative route for the underground line, tracking about 61 metres west from the proposed option, but still running under the Trinity campus. This option would still require additional technical measures to prevent interference with equipment, and a slower speed limit for the Metro across the campus.
