I've been associated with University of San Diego for 71 years. I remember its humble beginning.

Rodee is an alumna of the University of San Diego from the class of 1957 and a Catholic nun from the Society of the Sacred Heart. She lives in Linda Vista. University of San Diego is celebrating 75 years since its foundation. The theme chosen for the year is “Lighting the Way Forward.

She once commented, “It is not more expensive to build something beautiful than something ugly!” Mother Hill’s philosophy of education was a simple yet profound one. Considering the students she said, “Beauty will attract them; goodness will lead them; and the truth will hold them.” She believed beauty, manifested externally had the power initially to attract students .
