The Progressive Conservative government eliminated free tuition for low-income students in January and made several once-mandatory student fees, such as those that fund campus organizations and clubs, optional. The group is calling on the province to provide more grants rather than loans and to eliminate tuition fees for all students.
The previous Liberal government had increased the number of grants and made it possible for low-income students to attend college or university free of cost. Under that program, low-income students could qualify for grants large enough to cover the full cost of tuition under the previous plan, but now a portion of the funding they receive will be a loan.
Oh goody! And just keep walking.
Funny that students never protest on weekends / March break / reading week / Christmas break / Easter break / summer time. They always protest during class time 🤔
Hey maybe they could get a job while they’re out and about to help pay for their education? That would actually be some valuable learning in and of itself!
Too bad the liberals spent so much money we are in such debt that cuts have to be made somewhere. I went to school with 35 kids in my class and we survived and thrived. Taught us to be patient and have empathy for the kids that needed help
Seems to me students will walk out of class for pretty much every reason they can think of 🤣
Get back to class. The taxpayer’s are tired of paying for your free education. Apply for loans and pay them off like any responsible person would. 🤡
Those classes they are missing are about $175. - $200. A class. Not wise.
Let me get this straight you or your parents have paid for you to be educated. Yet you are walking out on receiving that education to protest that you have to pay for that education, keep walking and your education will be quite cheap.
Do university students accept any financial responsibility for choosing to go to university ? Seems like students want a free ride. Did they ever hear of a student loan ? Life isn’t alway fair, Some people have to pay to get ahead.
Glebe Highschool students are walking out now too, to protest class size increase and teacher layoffs.
Every modern generation has had one issue or another with how their post secondary education is funded Personally I think the more important issue is the number of programs available that offer zero value in the job market
So in other words a break from class lol
OMG, like they should be entitled to other peoples earnings.
Post secondary has not adapted to the google age and our economy suffers as we let students take on debt for useless degrees while we neglect training in economically important areas. The bloat in administration is huge. Cut there. Cut low value programs with low job prospects!
Hey, but you got pot! Good voting peeps
Hope it doesn't rain,a lot of snowflakes are going to melt

The kids at the center of the universe want more 'free'
You know, you get more education for your dollar if you stay IN class. It's more cost-effective to protest on your own time 😜
generation after generation.....funding protests exist.
