Scientists are supporting the students, while some politicians are criticizing them

Students worldwide are skipping class Friday to take to the streets to protest their governments’ failure to take sufficient action against global warming.

Friday’s rallies are expected to be one of the biggest international actions yet. Protests were underway or planned in cities in more than 100 countries, including Berlin; Hong Kong; New Delhi; Wellington, New Zealand; and Oulo, Finland. “We are the professionals and we’re saying the young generation is right,” said Volker Quaschning, a professor of engineering at Berlin’s University of Applied Sciences.

“As a doctor, I can say it makes a big difference whether you’ve got a fever of 41 degrees Celsius or 43 C ,” said Eckart von Hirschhausen, a German scientist who signed the call supporting striking students. “One of those is compatible with life, the other isn’t.”

LOL, anything to get the day off school. If it was on Saturday there would be two people

Underline: SkipSchool

Young people leading the way for the older generation to follow ! They, truly are working for the future of those yet born and to try to ensure a better environment for us all !! Let's help !!

Predict once summer vacation arrives and these marches would have to be done on these kids own time that they come to a screeching halt until classes resume in the fall.

Can they answer any of these climate questions? If not, shouldn't they go back to school? cdnpoli

🤣🤣🤣... like “students” need an excuse to skip mandatory schooling ... 😂😂😂

NP phow did you count? How many were the teachers children? Thousands, wow, in the whole world. Sigh....

Wonder how much they got paid for this

I wouldn’t have been impressed if they protested on a Saturday. Taking a day off school is irresponsible.

My parents taught me at a early age to think for myself and question everything. It on occasion made for a rough ride with some of my teachers and professors. But in the long worked out for the best.

May as well skip to protest sunrises and sunsets. It’s become evident that climate change is natural. But hey, what teenager doesn’t need a cause of some sort.

How sad that they most likely think the world is coming to an end in 12 years. Poor kids.

Abusive activist teachers brainwashing youth. Stay in class and do this on non taxpayer paid time.

Oh look a bunch of old people complaining that young people lack critical thinking because they won't think exactly what they want them to.

Protesting is easy, making sacrifices is not.

Thousands of students skip school bc their idiot teachers let them

They'd have skipped school for a Klondike Bar.

Bull S this is just an excuse to go out and have fun

Ability to think critically has been schooled out of them. Planet is visibly dying from pollution, waste, and overpopulation and these lemmings are protesting something someone told them.

There’s 7 days in a week. Why is school or work 5 days out of 7 Why not 4 out of 7. What are we doing

I would have skipped for any reason. They aren’t denying themselves of anything really.

International Goof Off Day?

Media and hack driven hysteria

Thousands, from around the world? Sound pretty disappointing.

Did they also learn about the multiple ice ages throughout earth's history? Or that as the sun burns off it's gasses it gets hotter? Or that no amount of money will change the weather? Or find it unusual that all it's advocates are flying around the world burning fuel?

I would like to ask little shits what caused previous ice ages and subsequent meltdowns?

How much does it cost to change the weather?

Lack of action? Stop gaming, watching movies and go outside and read a book. Here, this could be your contribution.

So thankful my children haven't been brainwashed by the fearmongers

When Alarmist fail to manipulate the adults, they indoctrinate the children This is fear mongering child abuse

Because it’s 2019.

Yeah, Noticed them all wearing those warm Jackets, Made from what product?Yeah.... And I bet none of them had a Cell phone, and they all Walked miles/KM's to get to these protests.. Right... I get It...

B.C. students join global school walkout for climate actionThey are inspired by Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old Swedish climate activist who staged the first school walkout to demand action on climate change in Europe. It's too bad they don't put this much energy into stopping 5G coming, it will not only kill the environment but humans as well. Millimeter waves used my the military for crowd control, coming to a pole outside your house very soon. TSA scanners use this frequency. When your life’s purpose is resolving climate change by skipping school, writing signs with poor spelling/grammar, and helping 0% to achieve a solution.
