The district’s data shows that middle school enrolment will fall by 2030, leading many parents to ask why the district wants to close a school by fall. Why not take more time to analyze the data and then close a school, if necessary, closer to 2030 when they anticipate fewer students? “I’m really, really concerned about this vicious cycle the rush of the decision they’re making. As a parent we wanna solve the problem I know there’s some challenges with the pandemic do we really need to cut schools now?” said Chuyong Fu, another parent in the district.Right now, its data shows 66% of classrooms are being used across its five middle schools, but that number is expected to fall to around 50% by 2030.
