After moving from her home in Australia to Africa at the age of 22, Gemma Sisia decided to start a school in Tanzania with the mission of educating the nation’s smartest students who did not have the means to attend private school.
And 16 years later, the School of St Jude is thriving, with over 2000 students on academic scholarships from primary school to university, and 90 per cent of the funding coming from Australian donors. Young men ‘at risk’ from new university policies for adjudicating rape | Sky News AustraliaUniversities are now introducing regulations to adjudicate rape allegations on campus, which author and social commentator Bettina Arndt says will use a lower standard of proof than courts.\n\nMs Arndt says university campuses are safe places for students, and that young men need to know they’re being ‘put at risk’ by this new policy.\n\nThe social commentator says an Australian Human Rights Commission survey shows that 0.8 per cent of students surveyed said they’d had some sort of sexual incident; which Ms Arndt says means 99.2 per cent of students have not experienced sexual assault. \n\n\n\n\n They are Above the POLICE Now?
