One Nation NSW Senate candidate Mark Latham has announced the Aboriginal Rescue Plan, which proposes to abolish the Aboriginal Land Council and to use the $5 billion in assets from the NSW Aboriginal Land Trust to pay for education, relocation, job training and employment subsidies.
The NSW One Nation leader says the Land Council is now the third largest land owner in NSW, but there are problems with this type of management as the ‘whole notion’ of land rights means a community is kept in a location that ‘has no economic success’. Mr Latham says he thinks the Land Council has failed, and that ‘it’s not social justice’ to leave people on long-term welfare which passes from generation to generation.
RealMarkLatham We been waiting for so long for Mr Neville and Mr Neale to crawl back out their graves. Sympathy to my Koori brothers and sisters if this fella gets up.
RealMarkLatham The definition of stupidity is to repeat an unfruitful action and expect a different result. Although this policy will get demonised as racist, One Nation is the only ones genuinely trying to narrow the gap effectively.
RealMarkLatham A recipe for disaster, everyone knows that throwing ever increasing amounts of money to these people is the only way to save them, why on earth can't Mark Latham see that, is he blind?RealMarkLatham
MRobertsQLD Great idea mark
RealMarkLatham Good one Mark.
RealMarkLatham Let's sell your house Mark Latham and use the money for much needed education in being a decent person

markbjardine Latham is one of the few politicians who connects with grass roots Australians. I'm just disappointed he's not going to sort out the useless Federal bastards who are destroying this country.
Yep, money will fix it.
What a joke! Another white man trying to tell Indigenous people how too luve their lives!!!
About bloody time.
Thank goodness for Mark Latham, he has come up with a constructive plan for Aboriginal communities that successive governments have never even thought about !
If the Aboriginal People can work with this and they say its a great deal then I'm fully in support but are we listening to what they really want or is this what we think they want?
Surely everyone will be ok with this, right?
I hesitate to agree with throwing more money at an issue that seems to be never ending, but, I need to be realistic enough to realise that this might have some relevance, marginal though.
Makes perfect sense to me
