The Lyceum Pirates survived a close call with University of Perpetual Help Altas, 76-73, to march to their third straight win on Saturday in the 99th National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Vince Cunanan, who scored seven points, sank two charities in the last seven seconds for the Pirates, who moved to a share of the lead with the Mapua Cardinals. Earlier, Mark de Leon was one of six who scored in double digits as San Sebastian College-Recoletos Stags posted their first win with a 111-86 smothering of the Arellano University Chiefs.
