Emma Kerr’s son Aaron’s placing request for St Modan’s High School was accepted, despite him not meeting the school’s catchment criteria, after he expressed a wish to follow his friends to the school.
However, with no direct transport from his home in Bannockburn to the school, Emma applied for a ‘privilege pass’ to access a space on a school bus. “We had to do a placing request because his allotted school was Bannockburn High but he wanted to go to St Modan’s but ever since being accepted, there has always been an issue with bus passes.
Meanwhile, with Aaron recently having been taken off the bus due to not having a pass, Emma has been left concerned about his willingness to get to school as he faces a journey of more than an hour across the city to make it in time. “I am worried that Aaron might start refusing to go to school and that will reflect on his education.”
