School books can cost hundreds for parents and following the success of the free school books scheme at primary level, it is set to be extended to post primary students

The official Budget 2024 announcement is next month, but there have already been leaks of what we can expect.

Ministers from the three Coalition parties expressed support for the extension of the scheme following reports in their constituencies of a hugely positive reaction from parents of primary school children, many of whom realised books were free only when their children began preparing to return to the classroom.
