Little spent 46 years with the Longhorns’ athletic program before retiring in 2014. After graduating from Texas in 1964, Little went on to work atbefore returning to work with Texas Athletics. Little was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1993.

The tributes poured in for Little after news of his passing surfaced. Former Texas football coach Mack Brown, for whom Little was the head of communications for, was among the many to honor Little.“So saddened to hear of the passing of Texas legend Bill little,” Brown said in a social media post. “There is nobody who knew more or cared more about the Longhorns. We lost a great man.”
