“It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Yusuf Bakmaz, a beloved member of the Bergen ASCS Alumni Class of 2022,” the charter school said in a statement posted to Facebook.
Bakmaz was a sophomore at Montclair State, where he was pursuing a degree in engineering and studying Turkish language and literature,ABC-7 reported there was moderate damage to the restaurant and that Bakmaz’s girlfriend was in the car at the time of the crash. Her condition was not known, and police in Ridgefield did not return calls seeking comment on the crash.
