Sad 😢...So very sad!

RealJamesWoods That’s why we need change Jimmy boy. What did the republicans offer to the working class while having POTUS, Senate and Congress?

She did what government won't.

God bless her heart; doing good to help the poor and repaid with evil. Another one of Satan’s traps (Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 10-17). The Lord has a place in His kingdom for her for all eternity✝️✝️✝️

Finally she did the right thing. Pay a fine and this should be over..

How much was the fraud? Bet it cannot compare with Trump’s.

If the US continues to go down this dark road, violent revolution becomes inevitable.

I think heart was in the right place and resignation is too harsh.

Not all heroes wear capes.

I hope she gets her charges dismissed. She was helping a sick child. 😔

Thor_LM This is about 20 shades of f*cked up.

DianaRuggOnTV She should be given a humanitarian award instead of a criminal record.

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a country where a sick kid could get the care he needs without someone having to resort to insurance fraud? 😢

Had the child been illegal.....no problemo!

Wait...huh?

rolandsmartin If anyone needed a GoFundMe started for them it's this lady

Much respect for this Hero.

This is wrong but it shows the state of health insurance in this country. The CEOs rake in millions and this lady actually has a heart to do the right thing

We need healthcare for all. Close the loopholes for the rich and we can all have it.

What's with the school nurse giving her the shaft? Saying 'the district is equipped to handle the child's medical needs' doesn't exactly sound supportive. Also, schools do not diagnose nor do they dispense antibiotics so her statement is FALSE.

She should get admin of the f-ing year! I don’t want anyone in my kids schools that’s not ready to put their job on the line to help out any child that needs it!

Sad.

This is absurd. The one deserves a commendation not firing

The wicked thrive and the good are punished.

Ha ha

Come to Idaho we need good human teachers like you.

That’s a damned shame. Her intent was righteous and noble. I guess this climate cant reconcile that.

Heart in the right place. Sometimes people have to use common sense, even insurance companies!

It's sad that a child in our country would be unable to get medical attention without resorting to fraud. Yes, she was 'wrong' but it shouldn't be wrong to get medicine for someone who needs it. America loves insurance companies more than children.

Good bless

Start a GoFund me for this woman and child.

It is every adult's responsibility to insure the safety & well being of every child, whether they are 5 or 18.

she had good intentions

What a shame! She did a wrong thing forvan absolutely good reason! We need more people like her! And she should get her job back, and be commanded for her action!

Insurance companies are run by some of the worst people in the world. This woman is a hero!

canadian_cousin Couldn’t she just claim she “couldn’t recall if she did?” Seems to work for people actually accused of really bad things.

rolandsmartin She is a hero 🦸‍♀️.

This woman, who helped a sick student, with no insurance...is now..losing her job? Come on.....seriously? Well, this proves NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED...

She’s a hero

rolandsmartin There’s a strange line at the end of that article about the district claiming to be able to take care of the kid’s medical needs. Obviously not is she did what she did and she the superintendent...

rolandsmartin For me this was unbelievable. Teaching may very well b the most underappreciated underpaid profession. They r expected 2 wear several hats, teaching, babysitting-nurturing, often going in pocket 4 supplies because of BOE 'budgets' n some have been penalized. Right here, extreme.

Someone must HIRE this decent human being. You are to be commended for what you did. The insurance companies are thieves and bullies.

Her story will be in psychology textbooks about ethical dilemmas and Kohlberg theory . She shouldn’t be fired or resign , there is a learning opportunity here .

Well.. it was fraud. There were other options.

That speaks for the current system of this so called greatest nation on earth! Healthcare is a RIGHT not a Privilege! We are THE ONLY developed nation without universal healthcare!

Only in America...

Elwood is a center of racism and corruption. Nothing that happens in Elwood will surprise anyone in Indiana.

She should not resign. She should be commended for caring enough about this child to help him. It's the system that is screwed up,,, not her. We could all take a lesson on caring and getting involved.

Her intentions were good, but she deliberately committed fraud.

It’s so sad!

There’s more that will come out about this story.

rolandsmartin She is a hero in my eyes. The student was her number one concern. Maybe she couldn’t get in touch with the parents. Why resign? She is what most schools need. A person who cares about her students.

rolandsmartin She helped the sick. God's is pleased

Sounds like she lied about her being the guardian to get treatment. Urgent care and an antibiotic aren't that expensive. But a non guardian consenting to treatment is impossible.

rolandsmartin Sad to hear that, she should not have resigned.

Sometimes doing good is not acceptable in a society that looks for profit instead of human decency. When insurance companies rip off consumers nothing happens.

She needs a go fund me

Boundary issues?

O hell no, you know good people make missteps and their motivation needs to be assessed before rebuking them. She needs to stay because there are few good hearts in positions like hers. This is terrible, and we need mavericks for good

The sad thing is we need more people like her.

In Britain all you have to do to get health care is walk into a clinic. The rest is free. We should do this.

😥

No good deed goes unpunished

This is sad.

She quit? Lord please, in Jesus name, let her consider coming to Minnesota. She's the type of education leader I need in my school district. She's rideordie for sure...

Smh

Helping is when you use your own money.

yea that was a dumb move but still people have sympathy for her trying to help the kid - nobody should be refused Medical care but this is America !

That’s sad

Uh......sounds like there might be a little more to this story than we’re being told

But at the very least, she didn't have enough schooling

This is why insurance needs a complete overhaul She did what was moral.. but illegal and losses a great job where she is bettering kids governmentHealthcare insuranceneedsfixed

sad

she's should run for governor.

She should have Betsy Devos's job

The lady makes $300k a year.. she could have just written him a check

Something is seriously broken when people have to go to these lengths to try and get medical care.

But we don't need healthcare for all here.
